A clever and comedic fun time awaits you at Theatre Three for the next few weeks! Playing until February 5th, 2022 is Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: a Sherlock Holmes Mystery. Masterfully and humorously played by the cast of only 5, and directed by Christine Boehm, Baskerville is a delightful treat to watch.

Ludwig’s twist of turning Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective story into a comedy is pure brilliance. He does it in such a way that preserves the genius and dignity of the iconic Holmes, while simultaneously infusing the script with humor. It is exceedingly well done, and definitely worth seeing!

The cast is incredible.  Evan Donnellan plays Holmes with cool aplomb, and Kevin Callaghan’s Dr. Watson is wonderful, you like them from their opening scenes.  Then there is the company. The rest of the cast is comprised of only three other people: Jonathan Sawyer Coffin, Elena Faverio, and Ana McCasland. These immensely talented actor and actresses will blow you away.  The three of them combined play all the other characters in the play, sometimes as men, sometimes as women, and sometimes more than one character at a time!  Quick changes, distinct accents, varying characterizations, and subtle costume additions all combine at lightning speed to equal an impressive and hysterical whole. It is done so well, you are never left in doubt which character is speaking, and with funny asides to the audience, we are included in the mayhem!

A simple set by Randall Parsons, and clever costuming by Chakira Doherty support the show beautifully.  Fantastic lighting and sound effects by Robert W. Henderson Jr. and Tim Haggerty added to the chilling mystery atmosphere.

Baskerville should not be missed! It’s a little bit slapstick, a little bit macabre and whole lot of fun!
